I’ve had my blog up and running on WP for over a year now. Today, my site started throwing a 503 Service Unavailable error (GoDaddy is the host…need to change hosts). But now that it’s back, when I try to go to the blog, it redirects me to the installation directory and the Famous 5 Minute Install.

So I checked my files and database and everything appears to still be there. Why is it telling me it needs to be installed again? What’s up with that? Advice?

  • Did you check your wp-config file?

Yes, that is fine. I think I found the problem. When I go into the database, I get an error “#1033 – Incorrect information in file: ‘wp_postmeta.frm'” The error only appears on tables that weren’t inserted by plugins.

Is this salvageable or should I just reinstall the database, wipe the tables, and upload the data again?

I can export the data and have done so. But I can’t Browse the data or structure within PHPMyAdmin.

Fixed…I pulled a backup of the non-corrupted tables, got a copy of my corrupted tables from my most recent backup, blew away the old database and recreated it with the credentials, then reimported the database.

I tried just blowing away the tables and reimporting in the corrupted database, but that didn’t work.
