Shortcode & categories issue…

    Hello!

    I’m back after using this great plugin for a while and I’ve got some suggestions/issues.

    I’m using a featured image shortcode before every post and I see that the excerpt on JWD’s widget displays an excerpt from the post itself and not from the excerpt field that is in the WordPress editor the shortcode.

    I mean not from this:

    So by doing that, the shortcode appears everytime before the post inside the widget and it’s really bad.

    And another suggestion about the categories.
    It seems that you can choose only one category to display in the widget, why is that? Could you please add an option to select and display certain categories of our choosing or even display them all?

    We’ve finally released the v1.7.3 version that should sort that shortcode issue you’ve described above.

    As for the choosing multiple category/posts this requires a lot of testing and AJAX/JS development and it should be available in future updates.

    However a Quick Fix meanwhile can be using the new Custom Query field added in this release and you can choose specific posts from any category/tags registered. You just need to select the post type first and list the post IDs separated by commas.

    Please read the v1.7.3 Changelog before anything else.

    I’ll mark this topic as resolved so just let us know if any issues in a new one.

    Hey guys, thanks for the update.

    The excerpt function still is not working and it’s displaying the content of the post instead of it. Can you please look into it?

    I’m also looking forward to the multiple categories choosing function in the future.
