  • It looks like you’re using a theme that assumes you’ll use pretty permalinks, but you haven’t yet set that up.

Go to your Settings > Permalinks page in the dashboard, choose Custom Structure, put /%postname%/ in the text box next to it, and save. Depending on your server settings, that might fix the problem, or you might need to follow instructions to create an .htaccess file.

Thanx for the reply Tim. I have carried out the method you suggested, but still it’s not working. If you visit the site again and click on Home/About/Contact, you will see in the address bar that the subdirectory (vp) is appearing twice. If you remove the second /vp/, it will be fine. Would you please have another go at it?

    Thanx

It looks like you’ve uploaded the WP files to the /vp directory on your server. Did you follow the Giving WordPress its own Directory instructions?

I have installed it in /vp direcotry. That’s correct. But I have another site running in my root folder. I want it to run only and solely from the vp/ directory.

I guess we are somewhere near the solution. Now if you click the “About” link, you will properly land at the About page. Though at the progress bar of browers, the extra vp/ tag still appears. But at the end, the About page does open flalessly. Do I need to creat pages for “Home” and “Contact” links also?

Got it to work finally. Thanx for your tips and time, Tim ??
