• I have an odd scenario. I have one user that cannot upload any media files using her computer. I have tried using her account as well as my admin account, and neither account can upload any files. If we use those same credentials on another computer, there are no issues.

I have tried both accounts on the same computer using a different profile with no change in results, so it led me to believe it was the computer. I reloaded a brand new computer for her today, she was able to upload one file, then after that it stopped working again. She is just uploading small .pdf files for the daily minutes or job postings.

I’m sort of at a loss with this. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

  • I would say that is something to do with the computer. What OS and browser is being used on this computer? Also what error do you get when you upload something on that computer? Have you tried the browser uploader to see if that works?

I’ve experienced this problem before (usually on Apple computers).
It has always been a problem with the browser and usually some add-on.
So whatever browser is being used, try installing a different browser or disable all the browser plugins.

I’m running Win 10 Pro, and we typically use Google Chrome as our browser. In this instance though I forgot to mention that we received the same result on Chrome, Mozilla, IE, and Edge. Every browser had the same result.

We typically go to Media > Add New > Choose File > Upload

When she does this, there is no error or anything that pops up. After hitting Upload it just automatically goes to the Media Library, but her file is not listed.

If you go into the wp-content > uploads folder can you see the files that she uploaded?

Great. I just had her do a test so that I would know what the file name was the she was uploading. . . and it worked fine from Google Chrome using the same method she has in the past. I asked her to continue using it and let me know if she has an issue the rest of the day, and to please note the name of the file if it fails to upload.
