• I found out that my dev work on a WordPress site was a waste of time as I would have to go through the database and replace all URL references to the “preview” domain, once the nameservers were changed to go live.
    I contacted the Duplicator guys and they replied quickly saying that the plugin would do what I needed.
    Installed the plugin, ran it and uploaded the two files to a new host. Created the MySQL database, ran the installer and the original site was now live and working on a totally different domain! No fiddling with database tables needed.
    I was a bit unsure about the database user permissions to assign; the instructions I could find simply said assign the correct permissions. Maybe I missed it somewhere. I assigned full permissions and it worked. I will work backwards to remove unnecessary permissions.
