• Hi,

we updated to WooCommerce 3.0 and changed our payment gateway back to Braintree. When checking out, I get the following error message:

Error – Postal Code is required.
Error – Street Address is required.

I obviously checked both and they are properly populated. Tried different addresses, from different computers, even different countries – nothing.

    What’s going wrong?

    thanks,
    Johannes

  • I’m also experiencing this problem – Johannes, did you work out how to fix it?

It appears that the plugin is not submitting address information for Braintree to be able to do Address Verification System (AVS) verification. Therefore, if you enable AVS verification in Braintree, you can no longer process payments using this plugin.

To disable AVS in Braintree, go to Settings -> Processing -> Fraud Tools -> AVS -> Options.

That said, AVS is an important, one might even say necessary, fraud tool that every merchant is encouraged to use. That this plugin appears not to submit the collected billing address for AVS is a serious flaw in this plugin, and I’m astonished it is so highly rated and installed given this oversight.

Perhaps the developer would care to comment in this thread? Is this possibly a misconfiguration on our part? Is this on the roadmap? That this has been an un-resolved issue for 6+ months with no developer comment is also troubling.
