Same story as I have read other people have.

I have multiple web sites using SendGrid plug-in that are fine. On one site, SG works, but on another I get: API Key is invalid or without permissions.

I deleted my API and made a new one with full permissions. It seems that I am not able to update the API. The characters of the API is 69, but the digits that are in the plug-in field are only 12 characters. Also, the test mail field is missing.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

All my sites are on a VPS server. Not sure why this one is not working.

    Thanks

    Hello.

We need some more information in order to replicate this issue.

    1. What other plugins do you have installed?

    2. What browser extensions do you have installed? Mainly if you’re using extensions that have an autofill feature.

    Thank you,
    SendGrid

Thanks, I found the problem. Some reason on one of my cloned sites, the API key was hard coded in the wp-config file. I deleted that entry and added the correct API back in the plug-in. Now it works.

Suggestion: There is a message on the plug-in options that says if an option is not available, it is set in the config file. Would be more elegant to say it is in the wp-config so people can find it easier.

One other question, SendGrid documentation says it needs SwiftMailer. Mine seems to work without it. Why does it say it needs SwiftMailer?

    Thank you.

    Hello.

We’re happy to hear that you fixed your issue!

Thank you for the suggestion, we’ll try to make that message clearer. However wp-config.php is not the only place you can store the API Key.

SwiftMailer is only required if you need to send emails via SMTP, this is because some hosting providers have certain restrictions for API requests.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Thats what I am talking about. Where else can the API be stored?
    Thanks
