google ‘legal’ way to not display author and date on posts

HI –
I understand that Google Structured data errors will show on this theme for pages – but not for posts if ‘display post meta’ is checked.

2 questions on this:
I don’t want author and updated to show on the posts… If I use css (display:none), that will cause ‘spammy structured data errors’…..

What is the proper way to remove this meta from the posts, and also, what is the proper way to handle this with the pages? Is there a way to have it in hentry but not have it displayed that will not generate these errors?
