htaccess backup failed

    I’ve successfully used this plugin on 3 other sites and it’s been great. But for the one I’m working on now, In the Settings tab I repeatedly get a message “htaccess backup failed” when trying to create a backup before proceeding with plugin settings. The website itself is working fine, so I’m not sure if the problem is with the htaccess file or the plugin. Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi, can you check to make sure you have a .htaccess file in your site? If you do what are your files permission? You can check your files permission by going to WP Security -> Filesystem Security.

    I did have an .htaccess file but realized I needed another in the directory where WP is installed. I uploaded a new .htaccess file and now the Filesystem security shows Permissions are set. The file correctly backed up.
