Love what you guys have created!

Here are a few ideas that could make your tool even more powerful:

    1. Allow me to SAVE any existing SECTION while I am in the Cornerstone editor as a new Global Block (and then ask if I want to replace it with my new block). This would allow me to take existing stuff that has been designed and tested on a page and easily convert it and re-use it.

In fact, now that I think about it, it would be awesome if I could convert a global block BACK to be normal block. In other words, I am thinking that this would be a great way to help prototype out a website. To have global blocks that we can re-use for building out a page, but then when it comes time to actually do the development we may have added a certain “template” block onto many pages and now want to start customizing it per page. So to be able to just convert that block back to a non-global block would be sweet. Otherwise I would have to at least go and manually copy and paste the code out of the global block and into the page using cornerstone shortcodes which would all get very messy.

    2. Integrate your Global Blocks admin menu into the X menus like here:

    and also here:

    3. In fact, you might even just hook into their “Templates” screen and allow me to edit from there, wow, that would be awesome:

    4. When I go to add a new block, I am thinking it should take me directly into the Cornerstone editor, perhaps you prompt me for a name first and then take me there… but that seems to make more sense than starting in the WP page admin.

    5. And finally, the ability to export all my global blocks and import them in on another site would be very sweet also… allow me to build my reusable blocks and take them with me on any site – amazing.

Let me know your thoughts and if you like any of these directions, thanks!
    Patrick

    Hey Patrick,

Great ideas! Sadly points 1 to 3 can’t be done as per Themeco rules, we are not allowed to integrate into their current UI. For point 4, what we could do it hide the text and visual editor so that the only option is to edit in CS/Pro, but launching it directly wouldn’t be possible.

Point 5 has merit, but I believe you could do it with any plugin that allows exporting of specific posts by post type. CS data is a little sensitive in the database, certain backup, migration and search and replace plugins have been known to break CS pages.

Appreciate the feedback and I hope you’re finding the plugin useful!
