Removing WordPress but keep pages / posts

  • I want to remove / uninstall WordPress but keep all my posts in their same location. I don’t use any comments / dynamic tools so it’d be easier for me to manage standalone pages.

    Would it be a case of simply preparing a folder offline with all the files saved in the exact same way and folder structure. Delete WordPress from the site, remove all databases, etc and then re-upload the files / folders / images etc in the same location (just without WordPress installed).

    Any reason why you have to remove all the files of the wordpress and after then you have to add again new files and folders?

    you can remove the all the files but if you have to keep the pages then you have to use the same database which is your current one.

    Hi Chetan. Basically, I just want basic, standalone php pages- no need for anything like databases etc. I don’t want the hassle of keeping WP secure / updated as I barely use it now. I just want to remove anything associated with WP but keep the pages / content exactly the same.

    I think if you don’t want to use anymore WordPress then you have to find developer to help with this.

    I suggest to keep your site in WordPress because WordPress will help you more in future and current, WordPress have a lots of functionality.

    I see. I assumed it would simply be a case of preparing all the pages offline, deleting WordPress and associated databases and then re-uploading the individual files.

    Yup ??

    You can copy all the pages as a .html file and after then you can create the offline site pages.

    OK – and after deleting the WordPress files / databases, when I re-upload the files, I can use the same website structure / folders – but they’ll just be standalone files instead of WordPress.
