• Hi,

I am trying to get custom sidebar working with Xtheme but I am having some trouble. When I go to the widget page the desired custom sidebars section doesn’t appear. If I switch to a default theme it does appear. Do you know anyone else having this issue?

    Thanks
    Chris

  • The documentation for Xtheme says custom sidebar functionality is built-in to the theme. It is most likely a conflict with the theme framework. Please contact Theme.co support for further information.

    Hi,

I reached out to Xtheme and of course they said that their theme works exactly like it is supposed to and I would need to hire custom help to get it working. Have you had anyone else with my problem?

    Thanks
    Chris

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your themes support. I do not think you need our plugin to make custom sidebars in Xthemes. Take a look here: https://theme.co/x/features/unlimited-sidebars/

In all that xtheme thought was wise, their unlimited sidebars have to be added page by page. I have hundreds of posts that I want to assign sidebars by category or tag. Xtheme not only doesn’t offer this ability, they seem to block all other sidebar plugins that do from working. LOL

I am sorry to hear that :(. Theme frameworks make it easier to layout a site but often follow different rules that break compatibility with other plugins. I will make a feature request for our developers to see if we can add Xthemes compatibility in a future release.

    Best of luck moving forward.
