Add category – no permission to do that

    Hi guys,

    I am using WP for a couple of weeks and just noticed that friends (authors & editors) are not able to add a category to their posts.

    If I got the role management of wordpress right authors should be able to manage categories (add and edit categories and subcategories). Even though, authors cannot add categories on the “post subpanel” :

    “You do not have permission to do that.”

    Why is that? What is the problem here? I am grateful for an suggestions.

    i don’t believe an ” author ” has the authority to add a ” category ” to their post. author can write a post. if author feels a new category on the blog is appropriate the author needs to convince admin or an editor.
