An array of sudden issues

  • I suddenly found myself confronted with a whole bunch of problems on my site, including:

    – scheduled post not published
    – Media Library appears empty (though images are visible in posts and if searched by date)
    – all previously categorized posts now appearing as “uncategorized”
    – subcategories missing from post editor (only “most used” are available, though they are categories I haven’t used in a long time)
    – trying to add a new post from dashboard leads to “You are currently editing the page that shows your latest posts” instead of a regular post
    – trying to add a new post from Jetpack calendar does nothing (no post created)
    – Meta Slider from homepage is missing + the content slides missing from inside the plugin
    – not able to upgrade to WordPress 4.7.3. (failed first time, then it says another upgrade is in progress)

    I’m really confused about this whole situation! The most recent plugin update has been JetPack a few days ago, but the issues only arose today. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hello,

    First of all turn on the debugger from your WordPress directory and find wp-config.php file which is placed on the root directory.

    If you still can’t examine the issue then deactivate all the unnecessary plugins from your site. Hopefully it will help you.
