• Version 0.9 of X-Valid is now available. This plugin parses all posts and comments on a site and automatically corrects them to valid XHTML 1.0. Feedback is provided is unfixable errors are encountered and the post author is emailed if a poorly marked-up comment is submitted. It handles a wide range of markup errors.
    Version 0.9 Features and Fixes:

    • Configurable via a menu interface; choose to autoclean everything, or select specific options.
    • Fix to a bug that screwed up some links with query strings. Cheers to Ben (www.yarbroughs.org) for the bug report.
    • <i>Optional</i> automatic update notification.
    • Wraps naked text inside lists in ‘li’ tags.
    • Minor improvements to the feedback page.
    • Miscellaneous internal improvements.

  • Jamie tracked me down after I left a random note in my blog that x-valid had borked a yahoo news link… and after about a week of back-and-forth, and me staring at code like I knew anything, he had hammered out a fix.

    Just released version 0.91. It’s a minor revision, fixing a mistake in the allowed attributes of an INS tag (thanks to James from no2.org) as well as a bug that incorrectly wrapped whitespace in a UL or OL list.
