Missing shipping costs on variable products after auto WC upgrade

  • My site was just updated to woocommerce 3.0.3 (automatically) and my flat rate shipping classes stopped working for variable products. They work fine for simple products.

    I am using shipping classes and they are assigned to the proper products.

    For this example:

    Simple products have a shipping class and cost = $10.
    Variable products have a shipping class and cost = $14.

    What happens is when a simple product is added to the cart, it shows the correct shipping cost($10), but when a variable product is added to the cart, nothing is shown in the shipping section.

    This all worked fine up until I did the update 5 days ago and it suddenly stopped working.

    Can someone point me in the right direction to know how to fix this?
