    1. Automatic Primary Category

    The posts’ category automatically makes the category with the first-most alphabet as the primary category. Please let me explain with an example.

    Post 1:
    Categories: Fun, Travel, Life
    Primary Category: Fun (F is first alphabetically)

    Post 2: Life, Health, Travel
    Primary Category: Health (H is first alphabetically)

    Even after trying to change to change the category, it will still reflect the first one in order. I am still learning WordPress and don’t know how to find the cause of this. But I think that the theme is causing such behavior.

    Please check on your end.

    2. Inline Image

    How do I make the inline (images inside blog post / body content) as big in size as the feature image? The images look smaller compared to the featured image. I hope you got what I’m trying to say here.

    This is true that Tracks will display the first category alphabetically. Is there a different pattern you’d like to use, or would you like to display them all instead?

    To make images in the post content as large as the Featured Image, we have a special method available. Please follow the steps in this tutorial to make an image extra wide: https://www.competethemes.com/help/make-image-full-width-tracks/

    I would like to display the primary category as the one I choose. How do I do that?

    Like in the example I shared, I would like the primary category for post 1 to be displayed as Travel and not Fun.

    Great thanks for clarifying.

    WordPress doesn’t have a built-in option for setting a primary category, but this is added by the Yoast SEO plugin. Do you already have this plugin installed, and are you seeing an option like this: https://pics.competethemes.com/320N1O3W0j1l

    Knowing if Yoast SEO is used will help me create some code to display that category on the site.

    But why wouldn’t WordPress have this inbuilt? Yes, I use the Yoast SEO plugin. I can see that option like you shared in the screenshot.

    They should really add it! It’s a nice feature.

    Okay that got a little more complicated than I expected, but I have a child theme you can download here: download child theme. You can upload the zip file like a regular theme through the Appearance menu. Once activated, the category displayed above the post title will be the Primary Category selected with Yoast SEO.
