• Hi, my name is Esther Moline. I’ve had a website esthermolinephotography.com for a good few years. I must have registered here when I downloaded wordpress originally but was having trouble accessing and had to create a new account just yesterday. I don’t know what version of WordPress I have because I can’t open the website! I contacted wordpress.com support forum as I was getting notifications about how my website was doing from them but they tell me I’m in wrong place and should contact you. The company I was using to host the website were sending me emails re domain renewals to the wrong address even though they had my updated details in my account so I didn’t get them with the result that my domain is expired and unretrievable from them. In wordpress.com they tell me esthermolinephotography.com is hosted by FranTech Solutions, no idea who they are! What do I do to get the content back up? Do I have to try and get in touch with them? I updated WordPress to the last version a few times when I was working on my website and I’m sure the content got backed up when I was doing this, I remember seeing notices about this. I was using Jetpack too.
Can you help, please? This is a major disaster for me!

  • hi, site domain and hosting are 2 separate things. however, if you have purchased both of them together then they should have expired as you were saying.
Now to get site data back you need to get in touch with your hosting whether the account expired or not OR they can get you the data back.

Good news would be: For domain you can still get your domain back (with few exceptions). the domain usually dont come to open market for sale in 2-3 months time. so you probably able to buy the domain back.

Thanks a mil for your quick reply. Yes, I purchased both together, only the domain is expired, my account with the hosting is still running and I even paid them for another year recently. I didn’t know the domain had already expired last February 20th as they had sent the emails about this to the to wrong place! I’m trying to solve the problem with them but they’re very slow with their replies…

As long as your hosting account is still up to date, all your content it still there. There is just no address pointing to it. If you go to your hosting control panel you will be able to get the ip address of your hosting. If you put that in the browser you will see your site.

It looks like you got the domain issue straitened out. According to Internic’s whois (https://www.internic.net/cgi/whois?whois_nic=esthermolinephotography.com&type=domain), esthermolinephotography.com is registered through GoDaddy and expires February 19, 2018. FranTech runs BuyVM.net (virtual servers) and BuyShared.net (shared hosting) – those would be good places to start for getting the site back up.
