What is going on? Can you please fix this?

I am receiving email after email of customers telling me they can’t check out or can’t access their download files, are reverted to a ‘internal error’, can’t process payment’ page etc.

I am also receiving the notice in my System Status that ‘your store is not using HTTPS’, which is not true. I have a SSL certificate activated. Please fix this. I am losing customers left and right every time a new update comes around. Hate it and am considering switching to Shopify.

  • Havent you checked beforehand that your site, theme and plugins were even compatible with WooCommerce 3.0? If the shop is that important to you you should always test updated before applying them. It’s common procedure with such big updates like WooCommerce 3.0 is. It should be a crime to ‘just update’ on production environments.

That said, quickfix is to roll back to a backup you have (hopefully, you really should) before upgrading to WooCommerce 3.0 and test the update on a staging environment.

There is probably a plugin or your theme that is lacking WooCommerce 3.0 support. You shouldn’t upgrade unless you are 100% sure all your plugins and theme are compatible.

Alternate is to try downgrading WooCommerce by manually replacing the plugin files with a previous version.

Thank you for your advice. I am a bit of a noob when it comes to this, obviously. I was under the impression I need to update in order for woocommerce and all its functions working properly for me. Glad to know that I don’t have to do that.

I also had issues before the update with customers not being able to download their files, not receiving their emails so I was kind of hoping that the new update will fix that. It did not. It made it worse.

I am receiving ‘internal server issues’ which, after reading the debug messages turns out that it has to do with the shipping setup. This is the message I receive:
“Notice: WC_Shipping_Zone::get_zone_id is deprecated since version 3.0! Use WC_Shipping_Zone::get_id instead. in /home4/username/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 382”

no idea what to do with that.

I thought I could handle creating my own web shop, and I did in the beginning, but I am realizing that I have to properly learn all this programming stuff if I want to stick with wordpresss and woocommerce and I am not sure if I want to do that. I have spent all day looking to fix this issue and can’t afford to pay a programmer to fix this.

If you have any advice on how to fix that shipping zone error or the two other errors I have been receiving, I would appreciate it.

    Other errors:

“Notice: Undefined index: body in /home4/username/public_html/wp-content/plugins/header-footer/plugin.php on line 71

Notice: Undefined index: head in /home4/username/public_html/wp-content/plugins/header-footer/plugin.php on line 15”

Update: I changed back to the previous version of WC and disabled the header and footer plugin that caused the last two notices.

I still haven’t figured out the shipping zone thing and hope to be able to use the new WC version eventually.

Notices are not the cause of internal errors. Look for fatal errors in your logs.

3.0.1 fixed the multiple downloadable product issue.
