    Hi Jack,

First of all, this plugin is fantastic and will seriously change my (work) life! WHY this functionality isn’t built into core, I have never understood, but yours is the first plugin to actually do this right. I manage over 50 client websites and the absolute awful notifications is a gripe I hear over and over. I’m very impressed with your plugin AND your hands-on support, and great documentation!

However, I do have a question (and a suggestion!). The first notification that I need to change on my sites is the New User Notification – For User. The default WP notification provides the username selected and a link to set their password. However, in your shortcode documentation, no field for username is listed as a shortcode to insert — and this is a key piece of info that needs to go in a new user notification.

I read through the support threads and found another person who wrote about this and found that using the shortcode [user_login] works – so I tried it, and it does. But it worries me that it’s not in the documentation and could possibly not work at some point. Could this be officially added for the notifications which it can be used in?

My SUGGESTION: have you ever used Gravity Forms? When setting up notifications in GF, you can insert template tags very much the same way your plugin inserts shortcodes. In GF though they have a fantastic feature – a little drop-down off on the right-hand side that you can simply select the tag you want to insert, rather than having to memorize or refer to documentation for the tags/codes. I would LOVE to see this implemented in your plugin so I don’t have to switch back and forth between the plugin and documentation. Considering I will be using this plugin on most, if not all of my client sites and replacing many notifications – it would be a huge time-saver.

Thanks again and kudos on a great plugin.

    Kym

    Hi @the_webscaper,
    Thanks for your message.

A new global shortcode for username is actually going to be included in the next version, due out soon. It’s really been completed, just working out a few bugs first.

If you like the plugin and the support, please feel free to leave an honest review.

    Thanks,
    Jack

Excellent, glad to hear that will be included. Thank you!

Would still love to have the ability to auto-insert the shortcodes from, say, a button in the TinyMCE area… but otherwise, I’m still super happy with the plugin. I will absolutely give a good review!

    Thanks!

    Hi @the_webscaper,
I agree – I’d love to include better support in the editor for BNFW. It’s on the roadmap but it’s a way off yet.

    Thanks,
    Jack

Hi. It is great that this shortcode is going to be included in new version. It is good to have it.

Is there any progress on this new release and when we can expect it?

In any case great job and great plugin! Thanks for your efforts to make our live easier ??
