• Hello, I m new to WordPress, I m using Twenty seventeen Theme.I cant see any effect for parent page attribute in WordPress version 4.7.3 in Theme Twenty Seventeen or any theme. After I set a parent for a published page, the child page doesnt show up in the corresponding sub-menu item , any idea why ? Although ,The same works from Menu Setting but why doesnt it work from Page Attribute ?
As far as I understand that even if I dont add any page to Menu (from Menu Setting), It will yet show up after I set it as a child from Page Attribute, correct me if I m wrong here .

  • Setting a parent/child relationship via the page attributes doesn’t affect the menu. Typically, the only change you’ll see is with the URL (sitename.com/parent/child/), though some themes/plugins do a bit more with it.

Use the menu features to arrange them any way you’d like; that will often match your page attribute settings, but doesn’t need to.
