    Hi,

We are encountering some small problems.

First, for those users with unconfirmed emails (they might forget to do so or emails are marked as spam), 1) they can’t login since no email confirmation is required, 2) they can’t register again with same email address since it’s reserved, 3) they can’t get new password since the email address is not in the database. How can I provide “resend” function to those users?

Second, when users register their nicknames, how can I manage this field to accept only letters, numbers, and hyphen, but without space?

Third, in edit-profile form, how can I set some of the fields as non-editable ones?

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

    Regards,

typo in: 1) they can’t login since *no* email confirmation is required
    there should be no “no”.

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I will answer your questions below:

    1. Yes users can’t login, register again or reset their password if they didn’t confirm their email address.

As Admin you can resend the Activation Email if you go to Users -> All Users -> Users with Unconfirmed Email Address -> Hover over the user -> Resend Activation Email, as explained in our docs. Users will need to contact you, the Admin, in order to confirm their account if they forget to do so. Also as Admin you can Confirm their Email.

    2. Regarding the Nickname field we don’t have this feature inside Profile Builder. I think this is possible only with custom code.

    3. In order to add User Locked Fields (field is visible for both Administrators and users but only Administrators have the capability to edit it) you will need to use the Field Visibility Add-on (docs) available in Profile Builder Hobbyist or Pro.

You can test Profile Builder Pro on our demo install. If you have any other questions regarding the paid versions please submit a support ticket. We are not allowed to offer support for paid plugins on these free forums.

Let me know if this information helped you.

    Thank you for your reply.

For the first question, my solution right now is to show some hints on the login or lostpassword page, advising them to contact our service especially when they fail to login with an unconfirmed email account.

There is no easy way to restrict unique nickname I guess. I found some plugins that might work. It takes time to test and validate.

For the last question, our team would consider your advice about the Pro version and its addon.

Thank you for all your tips.

    Hello there,

We also have the Resend Confirmation Email shortcode available. This will let your users request another confirmation email if necessary.

You’re right, we do not have an interface for restricting names.

If you’re looking at a paid version and you’re interested in buying it, please send your follow-up questions by opening a ticket.

    Best Regards.
