“No Data” Errors and More
-
My website (https://godlikenerd.com) decided to stop loading this morning. Curious as I’ve been using WordPress as the front end for some months now successfully. Suddenly, I’m getting “No data” errors from Firefox while trying to load the index page. This was confirmed by some friends at other locations.
Well, I thought I’d ask my host what was going on. They tell me there’s a problem with my script (right, because magically code that was working before will break without their interference). At the same time, they rename my .htaccess file so my rewrite rules break. Nice.
Another installation of WordPress on my site was loading just fine (completely stock). I go through the differences and decide that the weather plugin is to blame (not the powerful one, the “pretty” one). This is curious because it’s working just fine on the author’s site.
I try to shrug this off, remove the plugin and restore my .htaccess file. Things seem to be working. That is until I decide to post. Sure, I can log in, see pretty much every page. I press the “Publish” button and I get back “No data” errors on both my blog and my friend’s stock blog. Thankfully though, my posts and edits go through!
Am I losing my mind? I tried finding a reason this would happen. Does anyone have any insight? Could my host have screwed things up by changing something? Could my database be corrupted (both blogs are in the same db)?
Thanks.
