Was great when it worked but hasn’t been updated in 3 years

I’ve been using this plugin for several years and it has been great. A simple plugin that does one small, but relatively complex, task well. Loved it.
However it hasn’t been updated in over 3 years and on two of our newer sites, both running PHP 7, it doesn’t work and causes PHP errors.
I have contacted support but no support queries in the last 2 and a half years have been answered.
Sad to say plugin is no longer supported. ??
