• Just curious…is there any reason why someone’s access token would randomly change to a new one? I use my access token on all my client’s sites to display their feeds, and suddenly their feeds are no longer displaying because it says the access token is invalid. I’m able to get the “new” one but its been a pain replacing it everywhere. Not the end of the world, but just wondering why this would have happened.

    Unfortunately Instagram doesn’t give us much information on why or when this happens. The only piece of information in their documentation mentions that access tokens may expire in the future.

    Most tokens never expire and some expire every month it seems. The tokens we use for testing and demos are still either original or were only replaced when Instagram changed their API policy last June.

    You could always try logging in to each of your customer’s Instagram accounts and then using the blue button to get their access tokens for them. That would be equally painful I would imagine though.
