I am setting up our WooCommerce site and am having problems with taxes. The taxes are not showing up on the cart, checkout, or final payment pages. Any help would be appreciated!

Here are screen shots (if I did this correctly) of the General tab, Tax tab and Stanrdard Rates page.

  • Sadly the screenshots don’t show.

Another attempt at attaching screen shots:

    General tab

    Tax tab

    Standard Rates

    Order

Your settings look good to me. I tried your settings in my dev site and they worked.

Please post the url for your site. Presumably its a dev site. I can’t find WooCommerce on your primary site.

Here’s the URL of our site:

Um, can’t find fault so far.

If you pick a product where tax is not added, then go to that product’s edit page, Product Data section, General tab, have you set Tax status = Taxable and Tax class = Standard?

At your suggestion, I went to one of our products and found the Tax status was not set to “Taxable.” After changing it to Taxable, the tax showed up. Great!

Here’s a screen shot of the cart for this product at this point..

However, just a few minutes later I tested the product again, and this time the tax was missing again (screen shot below):

    Cart 2

I checked to be sure the tax status is still set at taxable and it is. I’ve no idea why the tax display worked once and then reverted to not working (showing 0 tax).

If I’m able to get this working, will I have to go through all the products to set the tax status at taxable?

    Thanks for your assistance.

Apologies! It appears everything is working after all. I think the problem was with the customer information not filled out correctly. Everything seems to be displaying OK now.

Still have the question: will I have to go manually through all the products to set the tax status as taxable or is there some way to automate this?

    Thanks again!

    You can bulk edit products.
    – go to Dashboard > Products and see the list of all your products.
    – click the checkbox on the table header row, this will select all the products on the page
    – in the “Bulk actions” drop-down, select Edit, then click Apply
    – change the tax status and tax class drop-downs, then Update

If you have more products than fit on a page, you can increase the number per page in screen options. Of you have several pagefuls of products you’ll need to go through them one page at a time.
