Preload stuck after running out of space

I wanted to use the preload function of this plugin, but only on the most recent pages of my site. That is described as the expected behaviour, but i noticed that if I preloaded 2000 posts, it would only preload the oldest (~2011) posts on the site. I gave up and set it to preload all posts, but then I ran out of space and the preload has stalled at file 7300 to 7400. I’ve clicked ‘cancel cache preload’ and unticked ‘preload mode’, but it still seems to be trying to preload and I haven’t reclaimed any space. What can I do to turn off preload mode properly, and reclaim the space being used up? Also, is there an option to preload newer posts instead of older ones?
