wordpress is dupicating pages

Hi,

Anytime I go to make a new page if doesn’t give it the normal page URL it acts as though the page is already there and adds a -2 to the URL.

example

New page is called

My new page
URL should me websites.com/my-new-page
but it gives it the URL if websites.com/my-new-page-2

when i search websites.com/my-new-page in the browser it is there with no content.
It is not in the admin area so I can’t delete it.

This only started to happen. I’ve about 75 pages already on the website but this only happened today while added 2 pages.
I’m holding off adding anymore until I figure this out.

any help / suggestions would be great.
