OnePress Child Files not being used

Hi
i use a OnePres Child, works fine as far as styles and functions.php and files the child themes root go (header/footer.php). but i need to make a change to the header in
/inc/template-tags.php

but if i copy folder and file to the child theme, it doesn’t take the file from the child theme but rather the base theme.

am i doing something wrong? is this supposed to work?
