• Hi there,

    I installed this plugin and it worked like it should, thanks for that.

    I’ve decided not to use AMP for my website, but there are still some AMP pages of my site in Google. I’ve disabled and deleted the plugin. How can I make sure the AMP pages won’t display anymore in Google’s search results?

  • Just leave it.

    Google will eventually just drop those amp pages out over time.

    Thanks for the reply.

    The weird thing is that the some AMP pages still exist although I’ve deleted the plugin. As long as the AMP page exists, Google will show the AMP version right.. so how can I delete the AMP pages?

    Hi,

    are your sure, that they exist… or are they in your cache?
    Can you post a link to a existing AMP-Page?

    Hi Spien,

    On desktop I cannot see the AMP page anymore by adding “/?amp” after the URL. But when you search for ‘Spierbouwers‘ (name of my website) on your mobile, you see the AMP logo in Google’s search result for my homepage. When I visit the page, I can still see the AMP site…

    I’ll get it to. But look at the loaded address… this is a google-cached version of your page. They don’t redirect to your url.

    @spien,

    So what can I do, just wait untill Google doesnt show the AMP version anymore?

    Thanks

    I think so. But i don’t know how long they will present this site. google will handle all amp-sites with a google cache, because they think this would be faster for the mobile users….

    Hey @spierbouwers

    Thank you so much for using AMP for WP. We are so sad to see you go away from AMP.

    However, After deactivating the plugin, everything will be fixed automatically. All re-directions (Non-AMP to AMP) will be done properly, and you just need to wait for few days maybe weeks to notify the changes.

    As @spien said, everything is in Google Cache, so it takes some time to get rid of AMP completely.

    Anyways let us know if you need any help in setting up AMP on your website near in future. We are always here to help you @spierbouwers

    I heartfully thank @lancecarr and @spien for helping the AMP community ??

    After a month of implementing I deleted all AMP pages too.
    This project is a catastrophy for all webmasters.
    My traffic 50% up BUT..my bounce rate from 30% launched up like a rocket to 70%, my pages per visit from 4 dropped down to 1.5, time on site took a big dive from 7 minutes to unter 4.
    my earnings too are 50% down, 50% down with more traffic?…useless cheap stupid mobile traffic
    The last week especially has been a nightmare.

    AMP = The biggest Disaster.

    Sorry, but even if i was strongly in favor of this project i have to stop it from ruinning my good traffic.
