Trying to upload an updated APK to Google Play Developer Console, but get this error

“Upload failed You need to use a different version code for your APK because you already have one with version code 2.”

Why has Google made it so difficult to change this version code, <manifest> element?, can anyone explain what this mean and how to change this code, seam like you have to put in some code, but where?

    Regards
    Carsten

    Howdy ,

    Thanks for your recent message.

Yes, I agree google have made it is a lot harder now with the new google play than before.

To change the version number you just go to WordApp->App builder and the hit the app structure tab.

You will find the version number here.

    Kind Regards

Thanks a lot, Dave, “Upgrade to change version”, so it is not possible to upload an updated app in trial mode?

The version in Wordapp>App builder says 0.0.1, but in the Google Developer Console the Version Code is numbered 2. How does this match?

As another mentioned in here, the app does not load after republication, the screen just turns white.

Hi Dave, resuming the work of successfully uploading an updated APK to Google play Console.

You wrote: “To change the version number you just go to WordApp->App builder and the hit the app structure tab. You will find the version number here.”

What I read from the error message, I need a new version code, not a version number, as you are referring to, how do I get this?

    Upload new APK to Production:
    “Upload failed
You need to use a different version code for your APK because you already have one with version code 2.

Hello Dave, my topic is marked as resolved, but it is not. I am still asking for a solution to my problem because I am stocked.

Google Play Console is prompting me for a new version code for my APK when I try to upload an updated APK file.

    Release:
    3.0
    >Mar 14, 5:32 PM: Full rollout
Supported devices: 10881 Unsupported devices: 2888 Excluded devices: 0
    Manage devices
    1 APK version code: 2 <

How do I change the version code.
I can’t delete the already uploaded APK at Google, so how can I start all over again?

    Regards
    Carsten

Hi Dave, I can see that the changes I make in the WordApp Dashboard changes the app, already published in Google Play Console.

Let me understand this correctly, I believed that a new APK and version code was necessary?

A republication demands a new APK and version code, which was the reason for this post but I guess that I do not need it. What is the difference between an update and a republication?

    regards
