    That is probably the case. I think downloadable translations came with WP 4.0.
    Is there a reason you don’t upgrade? It could be a good idea to plan for an upgrade. Not all plugins will support or even test on WP 3.8. (I don’t anymore)

    Ah, yes, you can download/export the PO-files from GlotPress.
    Make sure you use the right filename and place it in the right folder and it should work.
    With the plugin Query Monitor you can easily see if and from where it is being loaded.

    Hi Marcel, trying to load the language file but no luck. I have downloaded it and copied to the lang folder but i do not see any options to switch. It stays always in english and there is no menu entry anywhere for switching the language. It looks as it is loaded from gwolle-gb-hooks.php and it should appear in the admin menu but no way.
    I think my wordpress version is fairly outdated but also i have noticed that the plugin requires use of some additional scripts, some of them i have installed (akismet, mark it up and the captcha) but i cannot find super simple slider. Could it be that missing this plugin causes my no language choice issue?

    Or do you know of any way to switch the language manually? I have checked the db entries and there is no pointer to the language of choice. My ./lang folder contains only the italian language files i have downloaded, i have deleted all of the other languages in there.

    Thanks

    Regards

    In query monitor i see:

    gwolle-gb _get_plugin_data_markup_translate()
    wp-admin/includes/plugin.php:124 wp-content/plugins/gwolle-gb/lang/gwolle-gb-en_US.mo Not Found
    gwolle-gb _get_plugin_data_markup_translate()
    wp-admin/includes/plugin.php:124 wp-content/languages/plugins/gwolle-gb-en_US.mo Not Found

    That is correct because there is no en_US.mo file in the lang folder .. There is only it_IT.mo right now. Just going nuts trying to understand where i could find the language filename directive to be defined in the code.

    Thanks

    Hmm, strange.
    Are you sure that on Dashboard > Settings > General you have set the language to Italian? It is now trying to load the English files, so it seems your website is seet to English.

    Ah, that is good.

    If you use it for multiple languages, you want to loo at the book_id parameter of the shortcode.
