    I have this plugin installed on multiple sites, and I have had the same problem on 2 sites. I have a completed, published gallery and when anyone goes to click on an image which will enlarge it in the lightbox, they get a popup box titled “Authentication Required” that asks for a username and password.

    Keep in mind 2 things:
    1. The gallery functions worked just fine for months before this started happening.
    2. I have no other plugins activated on the site.

    What could be causing this?

    @nimage,

    Thanks for contacting us. Note that we do not have Authentication option in our product coding. It might be a permission set up from your server (you need to contact your hosting provider) or set up of your theme. Thanks.

    Thank you for your response. It makes sense to me since I have this plugin active and working normally on another site. I have already moved to a different gallery plugin, but I do still have this plugin running on another site and would like to use it again in the future for other sites. Can you tell me what permission level the photo gallery folder and the images inside should be in order to work properly without compromising security? Thank you.

    @nimage,

    Thanks for your feedback. The gallery image folder permission should be 755 or higher. But this doesn’t require Authentication, unless that’s set by your hosting provider.
