Re-mapping or moving the location of the /tmp directory

  • Hi,

    Due to configuration problems and security setting with my service provider and hosting company hosteurope.de I need to change the location of the /tmp directory that WordPress uses. Especialy when removing plugins and downloading plugin updates.

    Is there a particular PHP file within the wordpress installation that can be manually edited to change this or redirect the /tmp location to a writable area.

  • I had the same problem and contacted the support of hosteurope. They told me to insert
    putenv('TMPDIR='.ini_get('upload_tmp_dir') );
    into the wp-config.php – what I did. And it worked ??
