Good plugin – Still has a few issues
-
I think very highly of WPMU and all of the work that they do, however, I noticed a few issues with this plugin that I think should have been handled before its release.
For one, you do not have the ability to decide where fields go into Mailchimp. At this point, the plugin only offers three fields to show (First Name, Last Name, Email), but you are unable to identify what field they should go into your MailChimp list. They just default to the first three List Fields you have in your MailChimp. This makes things difficult if your list fields are already established and you cannot change the ordering of them.
This would be manageable, but there are multiple form shortcodes I have attempted to use instead of the default Hustle Mailchimp form, and have been unable to use any. I am still looking into these issues and may find a way around them, but at this point, I set everything up in the Hustle plugin, and now have to find some other pop up plugin to use.
Beyond this, the plugin has a very user-friendly backend and makes it incredibly easy to create a pop up in a small amount of time. Seeing as it is a pop-up plugin aimed at lead generation, I think a little more work should have gone into the integration with MailChimp. I still would suggest this plugin, but be aware that they are still adding features and working on the plugin, so some options may not be available.
