Canonical tags and social shares

When I set a canonical tag pointing to a post on another website (when I syndicate posts), I cannot share the version on my page on Facebook, as Facebook automatically links to the canonical version. Is there any way around this? I would like to point Google to the canonical post but still be able to share my version on social media.
