Designated Homepage?

My homepage has always been https://www.homepage.com
Now my blog is at https://www.homepage/wordpress/index.php That STINKS!!!!
I created an index.html page with links and stuff on it and that is what you see if you goto https://www.homepage.com but I don’t like this. I want my blog to be the homepage.
I’ve gone to the options page and I’ve typed in:
Wordpress address
Blog address
I deleted the index.html page from the server. When I goto https://www.homepage.com I get a directory…not my blog.
Any suggestions?
