I am wicked new at this. I’m trying to follow the instructions, but on my att&t personal page and on my ftp client, i don’t even see how to create new databases. i tried creating new folders and uploading everything like it said but none of the php things will run. i think that is because folders and databases are not the same thing. i called at&t and asked them if they ran that php and sql stuff and nobody knew what i was talking about. I didn’t know what i was talking about either, so i couldnt help them.

can anyone take a look at that and go far enough back in the chain of events to tell me where i screwed up?

is it even possible to host this on the webspace i get from my dsl provider?

would i be better off trying to do it at my mobileme (.mac) account?

sorry, i bet i’m so clueless it’s hard to even figure out what i’m doing, but i don’t know where else to turn. thanks

If the server you are using meets these requirements, then you should be fine.

That said, I don’t think either AT&T or .mac meet those requirements for PHP, MySQL…

yeah i asked the support folks if they met those requirements and they pretty much acted like i had asked them to describe the last unicorn they saw. they had absolutely no idea what i was talking about and told me to restart my computer.

Hey – there are several good free sites that work well with wordpress and they offer free subdomains

    000webhost.com
    runhosting.com
    awardspace.com
    google for more

they had absolutely no idea what i was talking about and told me to restart my computer

    LMAO :p
