Email Page Update to Subscribers

  • I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin or who to contact that would want to create a plugin that could send a PAGE update to people that subscribed to updates from that page.

    ie. I have a page that I post weekly league results on and I would like to add “Subscribe to League Updates” and when I update that page, hit a button that sends the email to subscribers that the league page has been updated with a link to that page.

    I have searched for something like that, and I can find one that allows that multiple pages (leagues).

    Any help would be appreaciated.

    I’m not knowledgeable about available plugins. You can probably search as well as I can ?? If you find the need to develop custom code, you can find help at jobs.wordpress.net. Do not accept any offers through these forums. Such soliciting is against the forum guidelines and can be dangerous.

    I would suggest you avoid any kind of automated mass mailing campaign from your own site. Your site will likely just end up being blacklisted, then no one will get any email of any sort from the site. I urge you to consider one of the email campaign services like constant contact or mail chimp.

    It’s actually difficult to format an HTML email that reads properly in any mail client. While the UI of these services can be frustrating, they account for the vagaries of mail clients. The management of the mailing lists is set up to avoid problems from people marking your messages as spam. Yes, even people that opted in to your list will mark messages as spam. One more of several reasons to not mail from your server.
