Our site won’t give any access to the dashboard for any users other than those of administrator level. Anyone who logs in of editor level or below just gets bounced back to the home page. They appear to be logged in OK, (according to the login widget), but any attempt to go to any page in the /wp-admin/ folder just bounces them back to the home page.

After researching this, we installed the Dashboard Access plugin, which clearly shows that author users should be able to see the dashboard. Am I missing something obvious here?

    Many thanks for any pointers!

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
