  • I’ve had that problem before. Delete everything (the files and the database) and try reinstalling WP from the URL you want it to appear at.

In other words upload the files to your “actual” server directory…

Then go to newyorkisdead.net/wp-admin and run the Famous 5 Minute Install from there

    hope this helps

Not sure I understand what you mean by actual server directory.
The directory I have it in (/newyorkisdead/staging/) is the one I want it in right now.
I’m no expert, but I’m thinking it’s the database accessing the actual url (https://missmandible.com/newyorkisdead/staging/).

A solution would be if newyorkisdead.net had it’s own server space (instead of shared) that that would fix it. I just wanted to see if there was another solution, before suggesting this.

Try what Dgold said, above. ??

Still the same answer — delete what you’ve done. Re-upload WP. Run the installer from the URL you want.

By “actual server directory” I meant the same thing you meant when you said “the actual URL of the site” in Post #1. Read up.

Yes you are correct this “lives in the database”, and I am telling you that it is written into the database at the moment you install WP. Feel free to try changing it in the DB, but that method isn’t so easy. So it’s just easier if you run the WP installer *from* the URL that you want to appear on the live site (newyorkisdead.net/wp-admin/), regardless of the “actual URL” where the files are located on a server (blahblah.com/newyork/blahblah/).
