[Plugin: qTranslate] Do Not Use with WP 2.6.2

  • When I first installed qTranslate 1.1.4 on my WordPress Blog site with WP 2.6.2 the WYSIWYG Editor would not initialize. After numerous requests for assistance on several forums with no comments, I decided to remove the plugin. Now my site has several languages translating headers, side bars, and other text. Still no post text though. I followed all instructions. This program is insidious and will not let go. Do not load it, there is a malicious bug in it somewhere and there is no help to resolve the problem. No response from the owner of the program and no one in cyberspace who can figure out the problem. I’m going back to one of the other translation programs.

    Works fine for me. on 2.6.2 with 1.1.4

    When ever WP has an update qtranslate falls behind and the plug in fails to work in editor mode. To keep your qtranslate plug in up to date go your wp-content/ plugins directory and edit the qtranslate_wphacks.php file simply change the WP version it has there to the current version you are running and it should work fine.

    @winallpoker so just need to include dyn WP version in it :0

    WP 2.7

    As WordPress has been updated to 2.7 and most of the plugins are disabled by default, you should first enable qtranslate.

    When you edit a page or a post, there is a notice, that your qtranslate is still not compatible to the current version of WordPress. You can ignore that, just use that, what WinAllPoker said:

    – download qtranslate_wphacks.php from your webserver
    (located within wp-content/plugins directory)
    – open this file
    – edit the following line
    if($GLOBALS['wp_version']!="2.6.5")
    into
    if($GLOBALS['wp_version']!="2.7")
    – upload your modified file

    Your WordPress Editor should instantly work with qTranslate.
