help with select2 fields query for custom post type drop dowms

Hi,
I’ll try explain as well as I can to see if anybody can help me or point me in the right direction.

I have a drop down that I want to populate with a custom post type list. I have to problems.

1. Since there’s a lot of records for the custom post type every time I put the field with the High Schools custom post type as a profile field, the user profiles fields admin area crashes and I can’t access it. I have to go and delete the field in the Database so I can regain access. Is there a way I can have this field just load data when the user starts typing using select2? I enabled select2 for the field but it stills crashes. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

2. I would like to have this field filter the high schools list based on the selection of a previous field. Example, if the user selects Florida as state it would only bring the Florida high schools. Any ideas would be appreciated. I’m blocked with this.
