weekly archives

Hello Community,
business wise a weekly approach to the content is needed in my current assignment.
I know I sort of have to integrate a query like “select tbldate.* from tbldate where
fldDate <= curdate() and fldDate >= DATE_SUB(curdate(),INTERVAL 7 day)”
into the “functions.php” to end up having a ..index.php?w=27 function call, giving me all news for Week 27.
Since this is quite tricky and I lack a little knowledge this far reaching I like to know whether someone in here has built something similar already..Any Support or Idea is welcome.
