    I am brand new and completely confused about the whole database thing….. Trying to figure it out, been looking over at the phpMyAdmin site and I don’t know what to do….

    Anyway, I uploaded the config.php and when I went to the install page, it said :::

    “Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_shortcode() in /home/dakini/www/www/blog/wp-includes/media.php on line 353”

    I went to line 353 on media.php and it said :
    add_shortcode(‘wp_caption’, ‘img_caption_shortcode’);

    WTF???
    What am I doing wrong?

  • It probably means you don’t have a complete set of WordPress files on your host’s server.

    Please review Installing WordPress, and make sure you are using ASCII mode to upload files with your FTP client (if using FileZilla–auto mode is okay to use).

    Michael,
    Thank you….
    I went through my files and found that you were right, and I checked every file and re-uploaded many…. And I feel pretty sure that I have all the files uploaded.. I may have to re-check again…
    But it still didn’t work… So I am confused. I would love to get the wordpress online, but I can’t figure it out.
    It’s located here…

    I still get the same “Fatal Error” message.

    thanks
