    Hey,

    I have a problem with updating the plug-in from version 4.0.2 for over a month. The update throws an Internal Server Error after some time and then the whole site and the dashboard are unavailable as closed for maintenance (solved by removing the .maintenance file).

    Then I looked into apache errorlog and found these lines (redacted some sensitive info from there):
    [Fri Feb 10 13:23:18 2017] [warn] [client *****] mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 45 seconds, referer: https://*****/*****/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade
    [Fri Feb 10 13:23:18 2017] [warn] [client *****] (110)Connection timed out: mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request_ipc function, referer: https://*****/*****/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade

    Raising the FcgidIOTimeout in fcgid.conf did not help either, even up to 180 seconds (except showing in the error message).

    Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?

  • Delete old Yoast plugin folder via FTP;
    upload new plugin folder.

    Resave permalinks.

    Clear all transients with wp-optimize plugin.
