NextGen Gallery not Uploading (version 0.99.1) WHAT GIVES???

Hi, getting growingly frustrated by this one. When I try to upload a zip, or a folder, or individual images using NextGen I get an empty folder. I can create new folders but then I upload pics I get zip.

I have checked almost every thread pertaining to this problem, on this forum, and while they do address my problem I either don’t get a clear answer or no answer to how to solve this.

So CAN ANYONE please help explain in a clear way how I can rectify my problem, or even just begin to address it? I have not had a problem before with this. I use a Mac Leopard OS if that matters, and Firefox.

Seriously, please help if you can.
