Importing posts from Blogger not working

    I just installed WordPress 2.6.2 and am not able to import posts from my blogger blog. After granting access it says importing and then set authors. It does not import any post. When i imported posts from my blogger blog before on version 2.6 it worked but its not working now.

  • I think someone recommend getting a WordPress.com blog, import there, then do Manage->Export. Then use Manage->Import->WordPress on your own hosted blog.

    Thanks alot Micheal, import is working on wordpress.com blog, so i am importing there and will then do the needful. Any reason why its not working on self hosted blogs? When i was using 2.6 it was working.

    Sorry, can’t explain that–maybe it has to do with the huge bandwidth that wordpress.COM has…

    This worked for me.
    The solution is to delete the text in the uploads section of the Settings->Miscellaneous screen. Having wrong directories there will give wrong results.

    Those settings should almost always be blank. Both of them.

    Don’t worry if they were automatically filled in. Copy them to be safe, then delete them from the fields and save and try to import.

    It should work. If not, put them back.
