Assign Categories to Authors as Default Category

  • I have multiple authors for my blog and would like to assign each author a default category. So when they write a new post it will post to their assigned category without them having to choose one. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Nice to know that plugin exist however not in line with that I need.

    I need to specify a specific category for each of my authors. So when the author writes a post that post will fall under a predefined category.

    The plugin above locks down members to what cat. they can view externally. Not in a author context like I need.

    For the good news:
    Just installed that plugin on a 2.6.2 test blog and restricted a user to one specific category. When trying to write a post as that ‘category restricted’ user, only the category is restricted them too was presented.

    For the bad new;
    The category has to be manually ‘checked’ when writing the post.
