[NexGen Gallery plugin] Loading speed on gallery

Hello! I love NexGen plugin. It is what I was looking for. However, there is one little issue I’m having….

Is there a way to quicken the loading speed when people initially view the larger size images in my gallery? The images seem to be taking a little longer to load than I would like it to. (They are clicking on the thumbnail image to view the larger size image) This is the only issue I’m having. Everything else works absolutely wonderfully!

BTW, I am on a high speed (partial T1) line and not a dial up connection. Friends of mine have told me about the slow loading speed as well on their connections (high speed).
